Colchester 1775: The Revolution is Coming Event June 7th, 10-4 on Colchester's Town Green.
Experience 1775 on Colchester's Town Green on June 7th, 10:00 am-4:00 pm. RAIN OR SHINE! After all, the Revolutionary War happened in rain, shine, and as we know bitter winter weather.
The Colchester Historical Society with the Colchester Parks and Recreation is sponsoring a 1775 living history event on the Town Green.

Gather the whole family and join us on Colchester’s Town Green for an immersive day of living history!. The all-day event will include:
- 10:00 am - LIVING HISTORY DAY begins with kids’ militia marching and maneuvers. Colonial craft demonstrations, cooking and markets continue all day.
- 11:00 am - General George Washington and his entourage arrive on horseback. Marching music performed by the Colchester Continental Fife & Drum Corps.
- 12:00 pm - A cannon fires to announce the noon hour.
- 12:15 pm - General George Washington addresses the troops, and Colchester Revolutionary War figures speak briefly about the history of their characters.
- 12:30 pm - Kids militia marching and maneuvers continue. Reenactors mingle with visitors and answer questions.
- 1:00 - Historic music performed by the Colchester Continentals Fife & Drum Corps.
- 1:30 pm - Revolutionary War Militia members drill.
- 2:00 pm - Parade on the Town Green led by the Colchester Continentals Fife & Drum Corps.2:30 pm - Cannon demonstration and firing.
- 3:00 pm - Skirmish with British troops.
- 2:00-4:00 pm - Kid’s militia marching and maneuvers continue. Reenactors mingle with visitors and answer questions.
- 4:00 pm - Living History Day closes.
